secrets

Below you will find the invitation to SECRETS, my exhibition that opened on June 5 at Espacio f in the Mercado de Fuencarral in Madrid, Spain. The project will be on display until June 26. You will also find images of a few texts and all of the drawings.

With this project I wanted to make a collection of secrets. I asked people for two things: an object that held a secret for the owner, and a written account of the secret. The objects were drawn on a scroll of white paper 1.4 m tall and almost 14 m long. The secrets were not revealed until I set up the show, when I took the texts out of their envelopes to put them on display. Throughout the creative process, I was unaware of the relationship between the the object and the secret it held. Drawing the objects was a form of apropriation, renewal, and recovery, allowing me to enter into the intimate relationship that exists between the owner and their object. In the exhibition I reveal the secrets and their forms, the objects, but never the owners. The secrets remain secret.
